The conference aims to introduce the materiality of the historic Qur’an and its features. It will not explore the content of the book but rather its physical aspects, from the text block to the cover. A series of presentations delivered by scholars, art historians and conservators (among them several TIMA members) will discuss the Art of the Qur’an from Spain to Southeast Asia

These lectures, free of charge, are designed for a wide audience as well as for conservators, librarians, conservation students, manuscript experts and art historians, and other interested professionals or learners.

The detailed program, and instructions for registration, can be accessed online http://www.islamicmanuscript.org/home.aspx
